What happens to my memo after I send it?

It gets typed up, word for word. Then it gets turned into one or more recommendations, each with your name on it and your words attached. Those go to the office's review queue, where someone decides what to do with each one. If one becomes a quote in the shop's Jobber, you get an email telling you which job and which customer, with your name on it.

Step by step

You tap send. Or you hang up, if you called the memo in to the number in the app. Same path either way.

Your memo is transcribed. What you said becomes text, and that text stays attached to everything that comes from it.

The transcript is split into recommendations. If you mentioned one thing, that is one recommendation. If you mentioned three things on the same visit, that is three. Each one carries your name.

They land in the office's queue. Someone there reads your words and decides what happens to it. That part is theirs, not yours.

If a recommendation gets quoted, it becomes a draft quote in the shop's Jobber, and you get an email. It names the job and the customer. Your name is on the quote.

What you can see in the app

Your activity page shows everything you have recorded and your streak. Each memo shows where it is in broad terms.

It does not tell you whether a memo became a quote. The email does that.

What you will not see

Prices. Mentat never shows you a price, a total, or anything about money. Not on the job, not on the activity page, not in the email. What you see is that your memo became a quote, and that your name is on it.
